Inventory Manager / Controller

 

Summary:

The role of the Inventory Manager/ Controller at Durst Image Technology is to oversee all aspects of the Company’s inventory. Working alongside the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, the Inventory Manager will ensure the completeness and accuracy of all inventories carried at the Durst Image Technology location and third-party warehouses. In addition to the management of the inventory records, the Inventory Manager will oversee the Shipping and Receiving Department. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Administer cycle counting sheets to cycle counters. Review, and research adjustments required as a result of cycle counting.
  • Review outbound shipments for accuracy.
  • Review third party reports to ensure shipments are billed in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Review receipts from field service technicians to ensure appropriate crediting process is being performed.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues within returns processing to ensure parts are appropriately identified and returned to stock.
  • Review and enhance the parts return process to ensure timely returns to suppliers are made (international shipping).
  • Perform trending analysis of inventory levels of certain parts.
  • Perform review of inventory items for obsolescence. Determine appropriate course of action to discard items as needed.
  • Monitor stocking levels to ensure backorder risk is mitigated.
  • Work with purchasing and logistics manager to understand requirements of ordering.
  • Monitor third party warehouses for potential scrap risk (shelf-life expiration).
  • Management of the inventory catalog.
  • Develop and implement strategies to simplify process, improve accuracy, and improve operating efficiency.
  • Perform audits of historical transactions to ensure compliance with processes to measure effectiveness of initiatives.

  • Leadership ability – motivation and development of other members of warehouse team.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent responsibilities.
  • Effective communicator across many levels of the organization.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Service Management Systems.

Education:

  • 4-year degree in accounting or operations.
  • CMA / CPA Preferred.
  • ALTERNATIVE – Refer to Experience.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in inventory management role, including oversight responsibilities.
  • 3-5 years working at public accounting firm with experience in a manufacturing / retail and distribution industry.
