Durst is Featuring 2.5-Meter Rho P10 250, Along with Rho 500R, at ISA in Orlando

ORLANDO, March 22, 2012 – Durst, the world leader in wide-format and grand-format digital printing platforms, today introduces the new Rho P10 Series – the most versatile, productive 10- picoliter UV printers available with 1,000-dpi-resolution. New-generation print heads deliver “fine art” image quality from digital print platforms that deliver the greatest versatility and highest productivity in their class, the company announced.

This important new Rho P10 Series of printers is designed specifically for large-format print providers looking for a way to output a wide range of hand-held and eye-level materials – backlit signage, POP displays and small packages, etc. – cost-effectively and at production speeds. The P10 Series is comprised of the Rho P10 200 2-meter (80-inch) and Rho P10 250 2.5-meter (98-inch) flatbed/hybrid printers, plus the Rho P10 320R 3.2 meter (126-inch) roll-to-roll printer.

This week at Sign Expo 2012 in Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center, Durst is showing a fully operational Rho P10 250 Presto – which prints up to 2,100 s.f./hr. – in Booth #2144. The award-winning 5-meter (196-inch) Durst Rho 500R Superwide Roll-to-Roll UV Inkjet Printer also is being featured during the International Sign Association’s annual conference and trade show.

“We’re very pleased to introduce these printers first in the United States at Sign Expo,” said Christopher Howard, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Durst U.S. “We expect the

Rho P10 250 Presto and Rho P10 320R in particular to be popular in North American markets because of their print width and other capabilities that match up well to the requirements of print providers here.

“Once again, Durst has raised the bar with this exciting new family of 10-picoliter, production- level digital printers,” Howard added. “They’ll introduce Durst quality and productivity to a whole new segment of sign makers and print providers, and provide new options to wide- and grand- format print providers who might already be Durst customers.”

Rho P10 Series printers feature Durst’s new Quadro® Array 10 print heads, which utilize ground-breaking silicon-based MEMS technology to produce “fine art” image quality with up to 1,000-dpi print resolution. Output from the P10 Series printers displays the finest color graduations and virtually perfect color reproduction, while maintaining high levels of cost- efficiency and flexibility. Their ability to print light cyan and light magenta further enhances image quality and range.

The printers in the Rho P10 Series print on the widest range of media. For the flatbeds/hybrids, that includes foam board, metal, acrylics and PVC. For the Rho P10 320R, that includes backlits, textiles, vinyls and stretch media. All of Durst’s P10 Series printers are equipped with precision media-handling systems to print simultaneously on two parallel panels or rolls, raising their productivity and versatility even further. And all can run unattended 24/7.

As with all Rho digital print platforms, the new P10 printers are equipped with Durst’s unmatched workflow software, easy-to-operate intuitive user interface, precision media transport systems, and other proven components that achieve high efficiency, productivity and versatility for the user. Durst also will exhibit its Rho P10 Series May 3-16 at DRUPA in Dusseldorf.

Rho 500R
Also at Sign Expo is the award-winning Rho 500R – a proven six-color roll printer that produces outstanding-quality, 600-dpi images on vinyl, mesh and other grand-format roll media at speeds up to 3,760 s.f./hr. It can print three different images from three separate job queues onto three individual 1.6-meter (62-inch) rolls at the same time to achieve remarkable efficiency and handle a broader range of applications. The Rho 500R operates unattended, uses less ink than comparable grand-format platforms, and minimizes operational costs thanks to its productivity, advanced workflow and unmatched versatility.

“The theme of this year’s ISA Sign Expo is All the Tools You Need for Success, and many sign businesses and print providers tie their success to their Durst printer’s quality, versatility, speed, efficiency and reliability,” Howard said. “Durst Rho users are better able to satisfy their clients’ requirements for more exciting options delivered on time and on budget, and they’re enjoying more efficient, more profitable operations. The Rho printers on this year’s show floor are those tools that can lead to success.”
