GotPrint.com Solidifies Stance in Promotional Signage with Durst Digital Printer Acquisition

The genesis of internet-based promotions giant GotPrint.com has been characterized by agility, responding to consumer needs, and capitalizing on market opportunities. During their more than 15+ year tenure, GotPrint grew from a small, family-run business in Toluca Lake, California to its current size: three domestic facilities and two internationally, in India and the Netherlands, with more than 500 employees total.

GotPrint specializes in customized, printed promotional materials including business cards, brochures, catalogs, multimedia packaging, signage and banners, home décor, and personalized gifts. The process from design and production to delivery centers around the company mission: to provide fast, economical, and convenient service without sacrificing quality.

“History has shown, as have our projections, that demand will grow in the promotional industry,” said Erina Sookiasian, Marketing Product Manager. “We knew we couldn’t meet that demand with our existing technology, so we looked to Durst to help us remain competitive and expand further into the signage market.”

The organization added the Rho P10 250 HS to its Burbank, CA and Hebron, KY locations. The Rho P10 series is especially suited for large format specialists who aim for a consistent quality on a variety of advertising and promotional materials, exactly the direction GotPrint was looking to expand. The system achieves a print quality of up to 1,000 dpi without loss of speed. The compact and robust print machine is designed for non-stop production printing with minimum downtime, providing the highest output reliability and efficiency.

“We can now print on a wide variety of materials including cardboards, PVC boards, foam boards, wood boards, aluminum and more,” said Sookiasian. “The Rho P10 250 HS gives us the opportunity to offer customers a wider range of products with more customization with a faster print time than ever before.”

Prior to the Durst acquisition, GotPrint was limited in their offering of rigid signage, focusing primarily on corrugated yard signs. While previous technology could physically print on other materials, print quality didn’t meet GotPrint’s high standards.

“We have no problem printing each and every custom print order in a matter of minutes using Durst,” said Sookiasian.

The promotional printing industry grew to $21.3 billion in sales in 2016, according to a report issued by the Promotional Products Association International™. That same study indicated that nearly 20% of total industry sales are completed online, indicating a growing sweet spot for GotPrint.

With the adoption of a superior digital printing technology, GotPrint can now provide the highest output, reliably and efficiently. “Durst is allowing us to be a leader in the digital print industry and allowed us to expand into new markets,” said Sookiasian. “We have already seen a return on our investment, in expanded profits and satisfied customers. They love each and every product printed by us, constantly remarking on the vibrant colors and quality product we are able to produce with Durst.”
